No driver will ever 'let' Danica win, or anybody else for that matter. there is too much money at stake to just let another driver win , male or female. A teammate may possibly help her , but if racing against her for the win, will most definitely try to win. And no driver would intentionally take another driver out. No matter who it is. Way to dangerous and way to much at stake.

Indycar isn't like NASCAR where a teammate can use the draft to help a teammate (except MAYBE at Indy and Michigan). The skill of the individual driver plays a much more important role, which is one of the reasons why I think Indycar is better than NASCAR (although I do like NASCAR).

That said, Danica Patrick has shown flashes of the skill needed to win, and she now is on a bigger team with better drivers and a better owner, so it's quite possible that no one will have to "let" her win. Not that anyone would.

While I could possibly stretch my imagination to come up with a nigh impossible scenario where such an occurance could happen... I'm not sure it's even good enough fiction to make a story with even mentioning! So, in short, no.

The whole teammate concept as someone to help you win doesn't really seem to carry over in American racing as it is in Europe. If this were similar, then you could imagine that if she were on the verge of championship, having already won many races and able to clinch with only her teammate standing in the way? Well, team orders or not, we know what would happen there. But would that happen in the USA? Probably only if they could get it so no one would ever question if it was arranged.

But this question's phrasing seems to imply she'd be unable to win on here own, and no one is going to hand anyone a win just to give them a way. It's too difficult to win as it is, and it's not something that's just given away. To anyone.

No racer will let anyone else win if they can help it. No one is keeping Danica Patrick from winning except herself and her team. A team mate would help her as long as the team mate had no chance of winning. I am sure that someone (team mate or otherwise) would take her out if they could and thought they could get away with it, it happens all the time.

No way. Maybe I'm a little chauvinistic but I don't feel women should be racing. It's just another reason to change the roles of people. Women are becoming more like men and men more like women. There have been an increased amount of gay fashion models as well as an increased amount of females going into predominately male sports. When I think of racing, I think of being manly. Seriously sweaty, knuckle pounding , muscle flexing men. Men who take racing engines and pound them out on track every week. When I race on my PS2, I don't feel like doing my nails or going to a salon. I feel like a man!!! That's what I was created to be and Nothing else. Why can't some things stay for a man and some things stay for a woman. I think it's also opening the door for other things too....like gay race car drivers. Like we really need that.

Only if the Teammate has no chance of Winning for themselves. Contrary to what is shown in the Movies, very few drivers intentionally takes out another driver, since it means they're also going to be involved.

Danica Patrick just plain out sucks. She's not a good race car driver and is way overrated. Wow, she got 4th qualifying at Indy, and led a lap.. big deal.

She has an advantage over everyone else in IRL (her low body weight) and yet she still can't win a race. She's just not cut out for it.

No way because Danica has the talent to win a race herself.

Danica will never win in the IRL, But I think she could be a dominanat force in The Nascar Busch series!

I don't think that's ever going to happen, racin' is racin'. I would hope that she wouldn't need help to win or she shouldn't be there in the first place. As far as taking her out, that would be criminal no matter whether the driver was male or female.

Is Danica even a woman? Jury out on that one?

She might offer herself to someone, so she can win and i believe someone would take her out purposely if the situation called for it.

no one is gonna LET her win , a teammate might help her, but she's gonna have to do it just like everyone else

No driver worth his or her salt wants a race "given" to them.
